Sample course program.
1. Causes of cardiac arrest with particular emphasis on sudden circulatory and respiratory threats. Chain of survival. Adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation
2. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Learning chest compressions. Safety assessment, assessment of the injured person, calling for help, opening the airway and assessing vital signs, effective calling for emergency services.
3. Early defibrillation. Learning resuscitation with the support of an automatic external defibrillator. Methods of opening the upper airway in the event of obstruction. Placing an unconscious injured person with preserved breathing in the safe position.
4. Procedure in the event of trauma. Wounds and injuries. Principles of action in the case of hemorrhage, amputation, fracture, evisceration or burn.
5. Internal health and life threats: Fainting, acute coronary syndrome (myocardial infarction), seizure in the course of epilepsy, sudden attack of shortness of breath in the course of asthma and acute allergic reactions, life-threatening hypoglycemia in the course of diabetes. Stroke and neurological health and life threats.
6. Principles of conducting rescue operations at the scene. Legal aspects of providing first aid. Principles and standards of equipment of first aid kits and rescue kits.
Course description:
During the BLS-AED course, you will learn basic skills related to providing first aid, resuscitation, and operating an AED defibrillator.
First aid consists of a few simple actions. However, what counts is the time in which they are performed, the certainty and automaticity of the action, which is why practical exercises, on which we base our course, are so important.
During the training, you will learn methods of recognizing respiratory arrest and loss of consciousness. You will learn the basics of cardiopulmonary resuscitation using equipment available in a basic car first aid kit, and you will also practice scenarios of using a portable external defibrillator
BLS-AED course takes 4 hours.
At the end of the course you will receive a certificate in Polish and English.
